RockIt 10U Blue churned out 30 runs over two games with contributions from the entire roster.
RockIt 11U Blue challenged themselves and played in a 12U-aged bracket in the USSSA Fall League at Mechanicsville Little League and came out as champions. It was a complete team effort in beating DC Titans and Pinnacle during pool play. In the championship game, the team faced Xtreme Heights 11U winning convincingly 10-0.
At the Glen Allen Sports Complex, RockIt 11U Black won their USSSA RVA Fall League bracket this weekend as well, defeating VA Adrenaline Blue 9-1, Mecklenburg Heat 9-8, and Evoshield Seminoles Barker 10-2. Two tremendous pitching performances contributed to the victories, Parker Maughan with a 5-inning complete game and Sean Joyce with a 4-inning complete game in the championship. Game two was a collective team effort, battling back from down 8-5 in the bottom of the 5th capped off by a huge single from Matthew Doyle. The offense this weekend was led by Peyton Lee with 5 hits, Micah Hyman with 4, and Jack Ferry added 3.
RockIt 11U Gold had a solid day in the RVA Fall League finishing with a 1-1 record for the day. A solid team effort resulted in a victory over the Huguenot Trail Blazers 8-7. Unfortunately, the team could not catch the SOMD Sting 11U losing by a score of 9-6.
In the Glen Allen Fall League “Gold Division” bracket, RockIt 12U Blue won the championship beating RISE Black. In their first game, Andrew Harris didn't need much help as he pitched six strong innings to carry 12U Blue to a 2-1 win over the Richmond Braves – Hinton. The top of the first inning saw 12U Blue take an early 1-0 lead with a double from Sam Roberson, a stolen base and a PJ Moore single which brought home their first run. In the championship game, Charlie Knighton came up big at the dish and on the rubber, leading RockIt 12U Blue to a 2-0 win over RISE Black. Charlie went 1 for 1 at the plate and kept the team’s opponent off the scoreboard for all six innings pitching a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out three.
In the same tournament, RockIt 12U Black lost 8-0 to the Evoshield Seminoles. RockIt Black was held to only one hit which came off the bat of Parker Haynes.
RockIt 12U Orange lost 3-1 in the Glen Allen Fall League Silver bracket playoffs, despite outhitting IYG seven to four. Kobe Bristow pitched and IYG managed just two hits off of the 12U Orange’s pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his three innings of work.
