RockIt 9U Blue competed in the Glen Allen League at RF&P Park going 2-0 on the weekend beating the Raiders 19-4 and RISE 2026 by a score of 17-1. Offensively the team was led by Ben Favreau and Daniel Nienaber who both went 4 for 4 on the day. Turning in very solid pitching performances were Colby Seay (2 2/3 IP with 5 strikeouts), Jake Bratton, Ben Pulliam and Lawson McLeod. RockIt 9U Blue has finished the fall regular season with an impressive 4-2 overall record and will have the #3 seed in the playoffs.
Also, at RF&P Park the RockIt 11U Blue team won both of their games in convincing fashion with a 12-0 victory over Northside and a 12-2 win over RBA South Ropes. They finished the regular season undefeated and will be the #1 seed on Nov. 6th. RockIt 11U Black went 1-1 on Sunday. In a back-and-forth battle with Northside, a productive top of the 5th inning led to a 14-10 win. However, the 11U Black lost a tough second game to the Commonwealth Cardinals by a score of 10-2. The offense was led by Ryan Lloyd, who had 3 hits in the two games, and Parker Maughan, who had 4 hits on the day including a double and a triple. They finished with an overall record of 2-4 and received the #5 seed in the playoff bracket.
In the 13U Division in the Glen Allen League, both our RockIt 13U Black and RockIt 13U Gold team played at Glen Allen High School. RockIt 13U Black went 2-0 for the weekend which gives them the #2 seed in the playoffs due to their 5-1 overall record. In Game 1, the team battled and came up on top with an 8-6 victory over RBA 360. Anthony Connor pitched two strong innings in relief. Mitch Larro clinched the victory with a one out save on a beautiful diving catch in centerfield by Dylan Robbins. Alex Hagerich led the team offensively with a 2 for 2 game at the plate. The second game wasn’t as close as RockIt 13U Black beat the RBA West Seminoles 10-4. The team did have to battle back from an early 3-run deficit to get the win. Alex Hagerich pitched two strong innings and the offense was led by Rival Axselle with a four RBI day. RockIt 13U Gold did not fare as well on the day losing both their games.
RockIt 8U Blue played in the USSSA RVA Fall League at Atlee Little League and the day saw some very good moments. Unfortunately, the team ran out of gas in the championship game. 8U Blue finished the day with a 2-1 record as they beat the New Kent Giants by a score of 18-10 and Studley Storm 11-9.
The championship game unfortunately resulted in a loss to the Ironbridge Extreme 10-2. Although RockIt 8U Gold lost both games on the day to the Twin Rivers Outlaws and the Ironbridge Extreme, the coaches saw significant progress. The first game had some defensive highlights with several great plays. There was excellent progress at the plate as well. The second game ended in a 5-7 loss, but was within reach. There was an excellent line drive catch at the mound and several double plays. The coaches see real opportunities to improve and feel the players are really starting to gel as a team.
This past Sunday RockIt 10U Gold got two wins against an Ashland travel team. They won by a score of 12-7 in the first game and 15-4 in the second. The team played well, the defense came to life, and pitchers threw strikes.
All four of our 12U teams played in the USSSA RVA Fall League as well. RockIt 12U Blue went 1-1 at Mechanicsville Little League beating RBA South Thunder (5-2) but losing to Hanover Sports (9-5).Andrew Harris struck out six, paving the way for their win over the Thunder only allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks over six innings. Sam Roberson was 1 for 2 with a homerun in the loss to Hanover Sports. RockIt 12U Black went 1-1 on the day as well. Losing their first game to the Hit Doctors 11-9 but rebounding back with a solid victory over Wolfpack 12U by a score of 14-8. At Dorey Park, RockIt 12U Gold lost two tough games versus VA Swamp Things (9-0) and Richmond Hornets (7-5). RockIt 12U Orange played two close games at Atlee Little League but came up short in both. They lost to the Hit Doctors Navy and RVA Stars. One highlight in Game 1 was the pitching of Drew Spears who handled the Hit Doctor Navy's lineup, racking up four strikeouts. Spears allowed no earned runs on four hits and one walk over five innings. In Game 2, Cole Powers went 1 for 1 at the plate with 2 RBIs.
RockIt 14U Blue competed at Tuckahoe Sports Complex and recorded 1 win and 1 loss. They were dominant over the DC Titan winning 25-5 but lost a heartbreaker to RBA Southies 2021’s by a 7-6 score. At Poor Farm Park, RockIt 14U Black had a good day with a 1-1-1 record. The team started the day with a solid 7-3 victory over Varina Select. However, a tough 5-5 tie versus VU Baseball resulted in a rematch in the championship game. In that game, VU Baseball beat RockIt Black 11-3.
