Ball Handling Drills


Instructions:

 

  • Pick 1 or 2 of the following drills and add to an existing workout.
  • Or do all 5 of the drills if you are concentrating only on ball handling for the day.

 

Drills to Choose From:

 

    1. Stationary 1 Ball - (1 set @ 30 seconds each)

        -Right Hand Pound

        -Left Hand Pound

        -Right Hand V Fronts

        -Left Hand V Fronts

        -Right Hand V Sides

        -Left Hand V Sides

        -Crossovers

        -Between the Legs

        -Behind the Back

        -Crossover, Between the Legs, Behind the Back

            

        Notes:

        -Wide base

        -Athletic stance

        -Basketball does not go above the knee

    

    2. Stationary 2 Ball - (1 set @ 30 seconds each)

        -2 Ball Pound

        -2 Ball Alternating

        -2 Ball V Fronts

        -2 Ball Opposite V Fronts

        -2 Ball  V Sides

        -2 Ball Opposite V Sides

        -2 Ball Crossovers, Right Hand Underneath

        -2 Ball Crossovers, Left Hand Underneath

    

        Notes:

        -Wide base

        -Athletic stance

        -Basketballs do not go above the knee

 

    3. Zig Zag On the Move 1 Ball - (2 reps per move)

        -Crossovers

        -Between the Legs

        -Behind the Backs

        -Crossover, Between the Legs, Behind the Back

    

        Notes:

        -6 cones

        -Cones are 6 feet apart

        -Zig zag every other cone 6 feet

        -1 rep = down and back

 

    4. Zig Zag On the Move 2 Ball - (2 reps per move)

        -2 Ball Pound

        -2 Ball Alternating

    

        Notes:

        -6 cones

        -Cones are 6 feet apart

        -Zig zag every other cone 6 feet

        -1 rep = down and back

 

    5. Walk Downs - (2 reps per move)

        -Crossovers

        -Between the Legs

        -Behind the Backs

        -Crossover, Between the Legs, Behind the Back

    

        Notes:

        -1 rep = 50 dribbles
